iPad is good at giving good battery backup but you might want to consider adding more time to it, right? Then here are the best tips that will help you improve the battery life of your iPad significantly. I have applied these tips myself and observed notable difference in the battery backup of my iPad:

How to improve battery life of your iPad:

Tip#1: Turn Wi-Fi and other data settings off

Wi-Fi and 3G data eats a lot of battery power; therefore switch them off when not in use.  Just head over to the Settings > Wi-Fi option or Cellular > and switch it off

Tip#2: Switch your Bluetooth connectivity off

Bluetooth is the biggest battery consumer after Wi-Fi and 3G data connectivity. You should switch your iPad’s Bluetooth connectivity off from Settings > General > Bluetooth > Off

Tip#3: Reduce the consumption of location services

Applications which use location services to work reduce battery life at a greater speed. So you must consider disabling location services from Settings > General > Location Services or use location services only when needed.

Tip#4: Toggle push notifications service off

A number of applications require push notification service to alert you of the new update. A great example of push notification service based apps is instant messaging services that require a good amount of battery life. Head over to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data > Turn off

Tip#5: Switch off the equalizer

Your iPad has an iPod application that has built-in music equalizer which automatically adjusts the music settings to enhance the quality of the music. This feature consumes a lot of battery life, so you might want to switch it off for the sake of your ipad’s battery life. You can turn it off by heading over to the Settings > iPod > EQ > Off

Tip#6: Use Auto-lock with reduced timing

Auto-lock can be used to save a lot of battery power of your iPad. So you must use it to save the battery life of your iPad from Settings > General > Auto-Lock and select your desired time.

Tip#7: Use auto-brightness or reduce the brightness level of your screen yourself

The brighter screen you have, the more your battery life will suffer. Therefore it is recommended to reduce the brightness level to its lowest. Just head over to Settings > Brightness & Wallpaper then select Auto Brightness, to let your iPad’s sensor adjust the level of brightness automatically according to the environment lighting or you can even use the slider to adjust the brightness level yourself.

Tip#8: Keep your iPad cool

High temperatures can cause your iPad’s battery life to drain faster. The recommended temperature for iPad is between 32ºF and 95ºF (0ºC and 35ºC).

Some people use case to protect their iPad. This is a good protection measure but at the same time it can cause your iPad to drain its battery life faster. Always remember to use iPad case when in extreme need. It is however also recommended not to cover your iPad with a case during charging because it creates extra heat and it directly affects the battery life of your iPad.
